Using a lightweight steel flywheel has the same effect as lightening the car. Reducing the mass of rotating components in the engine helps the engine accelerate more easily leading to better acceleration of the car. These high quality steel flywheels are considerably lighter than the standard cast items and offer improved strength and a harder wearing clutch face. Their symmetrical design means they also reduce harmonic vibrations. We offer flywheels in two specification; Roadlite and Racelite. Roadlite flywheels weigh in at 5kgs (11lbs), half the weight of a standard 1275cc. Our Racelite flywheels weigh in at just 3.63kgs (8lbs) for maximum weight saving in competition engines and are manufactured from EN8 grade steel.
