Additives in fuels nowadays are constantly increasing and being developed to improve performance and reduce emissions. There has also been an increase in problems with original Smiths plastic sending unit floats, often developing a leak. The general consensus is the new additives are attacking the plastic or glued seams.
To solve the problems with the original plastic floats, we now offer this brass float that will work with the original Smithƒ??s sending units and not react to modern fuel additives. The float simply replaces the old one and clips into a loop in the wire arm of the sender.

Please note: These floats will not work with early Smiths units with soldered-on metal floats
