MINI Exhaust EXHAUST MANIFOLDS HEAT INSULATION MANIFOLD WRAP
Excessive heat build up in the engine bay can cause premature failure of components, and leads to poor engine running due to reduced inlet air density. Excess heat in the engine bay can also cause fuel cavitation. Wrapping a tubular manifold will keep engine bay heat to a minimum, reducing engine bay temperatures by up to 70%. This will benefit power in two ways; firstly it will reduce the temperature of the air going into the engine; secondly, it improves the effectiveness of the manifold by increasing gas speed due to lower gas density, increases the scavenging effect. This race proven, asbestos free, product from Thermo-Tec is manufactured from Silica based yarns and is unaffected by oil or water, whilst being able to withstand temperatures of up to 1000°C. As a guide to coverage a 2” x 50’ roll will cover approximately 13 ft of 2” pipe.
